Energy Release. Applied High Performance Products has distributed the Energy Release family of products for over 27 years. Energy Release is a globally recognized brand in the racing and high performance arenas. Energy Release Antifriction Metal Conditioner is the only oil additive that can be used in every lubricated system (not brakes) of your vehicle and equipment. Energy Release Antifriction Metal Conditioner Engine Treatment is NOT an oil treatment. Energy Release is carried by oil to points of friction, heat generation and wear. Energy Release is activated by heat & friction, treating those areas directly. When added to your vehicle’s lubricating fluids, Energy Release forms smooth broad surfaces that dramatically reduce friction and wear between metal moving parts. Energy Release is ideal for gas and diesel engines, natural gas engines, compressors, power tools, heavy equipment and much more.
My business is named Applied Hi-Performance Products because it represents the practical use of extraordinary products that have an effect of the highest level or degree attainable. I gained profound appreciation for “Products That Perform” with over 41 years working experience in all forms of professional racing, motorsports marketing, product marketing, finance and working on the family farm. My interest in the high performance world started when my father purchased his first snowmobile in 1964. I was 11 years old. I became obsessed with this machine. It opened up a whole new world for me to occupy my time during the long winters in North Dakota. This “snow cat” intrigued me. I was always trying to make it work better and go faster. I managed to keep up with the competitive riders in the community over the years with the help from Joanie and Louie Slominski (Slominski Sales & Service), the local Polaris dealership.
In 1980 I started racing cross-country professionally and learned very quickly that I wasn’t the fastest kid on the block. I was amazed by how much faster the competition was. In 1985 I had an opportunity to race for Pro-5 Racing, a Polaris high performance company in Roseau, Minn. owned by Burt Bassett and Larry Rugland. In 1987 we were fortunate enough to win a season class point’s championship in the Heartland Racing Circuit. In 1989, Bassett informed me that Mike and Steve Houle would be racing out of their shop in the highly competitive USSA Formula III Ice Oval Racing Series. Bassett asked me if I would be interested in creating and overseeing the marketing department for the team. I accepted his offer. My experience racing and working with Pro-5 Racing and their entire team was amazing. I truly appreciated the opportunity to be part of a multi-world championship team. Thank you Burt Bassett.
One day in September 1994, I overheard a gentleman at the local watering hole talking about a product called Energy Release (ER). I asked him what ER was. He said it's an Antifriction Metal Conditioner. I had no idea what he was talking about. He said he knew a guy in Crookston, Minn. that sold Energy Release. His name is Denny Ray. (Ray worked for Arctic Cat for many years. He was the lead Engineer for the Boss Cat speed run snowmobiles of the early 70’s. The Boss Cat I, driven by Dale Cormican, set a snowmobile world land speed record of 125.87 miles per hour on February 21, 1971). Curiosity got the best of me so I called Ray and set up an appointment to talk about Energy Release. I was impressed when I walked into his small shop. I had never seen a dynamometer before. I told Ray that back-in-the-day he was one of my snowmobiling hero’s. We talked about snowmobiling for a while and then he showed me his Chevy 454 dynamometer test results dated January 20, 1990 using Pensoil 10-30 motor oil with Energy Release added at the recommended ratio. Ray told me that Energy Release was the best product of its kind that he had tested. I asked him if Energy Release worked in 2-cycle engines and he said yes. He sold me two bottles. I gave one bottle to Steve Houle and asked him to test Energy Release on the race track…the rest is history. Houle owns Speedwerx, a successful high performance shop in Forest Lake, MN.
In 1995 I decided to leave the family business and go back to school. I enrolled at the University of North Dakota majoring in Communication. I called Energy Release and explained that I was attending UND and I needed a part-time job. They eventually hired me as a manufacturer’s representative working in the racing industry. I traveled all over the country on weekends and any spare time to set up distributors and attend racing events in all forms of motorsports. It was an awesome experience. I graduated UND in 2002 and took a job as Marketing Director for Retrax, a company that manufactures a retractable pickup bed cover.
I left Retrax in 2009 to start Applied Hi-Performance Products. I’ve been marketing Energy Release products for over 27 years. Through my travels, I’ve had an opportunity to work with world-class business owners, racers and engine builders in all forms of motorsports, which includes: NASCAR, Indy Car, World of Outlaws, Monster Trucks, NHRA, World Karting Association, International Karting Association, American Motorcyclist Association, Unites State Cross-County Snowmobile Racing Association (USCC), Unites States X-Country Snowmobile Racing (USXC), International Series of Champions Snowmobile Racing (ISOC) and more.
Through these relationships, I’ve met many brilliant people and learned about many amazing products. I have a strong desire to provide you with an opportunity to purchase these products. I want you to experience the confirmed results that business owners and world champion racers encounter. Our goal at Applied Hi-Performance Products is to provide you with enough product information about the extraordinary products we offer, so you can make an informed decision. I would appreciate your business.
